2009 Special Mint Set

PLEASE NOTE: Each original 2009 P&D U.S. District and Territory Mint blister pack, contains 6 coins each from the United States Mint at Philadelphia and 6 coins each from the United States Mint at Denver. Honoring the District of Columbia and five U.S. Territories: The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the United States Virgin Islands and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. These United States Mint uncirculated "Satin Finish" coins were struck on special presses using greater force than circulating coins, producing a sharp, intricately detailed image. Sealed in the original blister pack by the U.S. Mint. These were removed from original 2009 36pc. U.S. Mint sets, for the purpose of being sold to collectors of only 2009 P&D District and Territory sets. The Mint sold approximately 771,204 sets of these 2009 Uncirculated "Satin Finish" Mint Sets, however, the Mint unexpectedly discontinued selling the 2009 Uncirculated Sets on June 15, 2010. And in return, it created the lowest mintages for the last six quarters in this series!
